Motor Sports Spinal Injury

I had the privilege of treating Chris Alajajian‘s spine due to the pain he developed from the physical demands of motorsport racing.

Chris, now 21, is a rising star in the world of motorsport. Starting his journey at the age of 11 in go-karts, he has steadily climbed the ranks, with his sights set on success at the highest levels of racing.

In 2007, Chris was offered a prestigious drive in the A1 Grand Prix – World Cup of Motorsport. That same year, he competed in the Fujitsu Development Series, starting late but immediately making an impact by winning from the second row at Wakefield Park. The previous year, in 2006, Chris raced in the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Development Series, showing great promise despite some challenges with maintaining a consistent drive. His Formula 3 season also saw him finish third in the championship, including a remarkable win in the A1 Grand Prix support race at Eastern Creek, where he set a series-high seven fastest laps.

Chris’s versatility on the track was evident in his performance in the Australian Performance Car Championship, where, despite competing in only half the rounds, he recorded a series-high five race wins in a Subaru WRX STi. He even ventured into rally racing, participating in the WPS Rally Bathurst with the Subaru RS Challenge, where he adapted impressively.

In Formula 3, Chris continued to impress despite switching teams twice mid-season. He finished third overall, leading the championship early on and securing several podium finishes in the Australian Grand Prix support races. His talent in both tin-tops and open-wheelers was on full display throughout 2005, particularly in the Australian Formula 3 Championship, where he scored podium finishes in support races at the Lexmark Indy 300.

Chris’s motorsport journey has been nothing short of remarkable. In 2004, he joined Protecnica Racing, returning to the Production Car Championship and dominating the season, winning both the Class A and Outright Championships. He made history that year at Mount Panorama, becoming the youngest driver to win a race at the legendary track in the 2-hour Showroom Showdown.

Chris first burst onto the Australian racing scene in 2003 at just 16, finishing third in the Australian Production Car Championship in a BMW 323i and dazzling many with his exceptional car control and speed. Now competing in the A1 Grand Prix – World Cup of Motorsport, Chris continues to build his reputation as a motorsport sensation.
