At the 39th running of the AMP Bathurst 1000 on October 4th, 1998, I had the privilege of being the treating chiropractor for the BMW Roadchill team, consisting of brothers Troy and Luke Searle and their mechanics. Competing in one of the most demanding endurance races, the team secured a respectable 7th place finish out of 42 starters.
As the race progressed, the physical demands began to take a toll on the drivers. Luke started experiencing neck pain and headaches, while Troy suffered from cramping in his thoracic spine. His body temperature rose so high that the sweat on his torso was turning to vapour. Through chiropractic treatment, I was able to eliminate their signs and symptoms, helping them maintain their performance and finish the race in good condition.
